about
This track is one of the most personal songs I've written. Someone once confided in me about a personal problem that she was having. She was going through emotions about her love life. She was struggling with the fact that after all of these years.. she was finally ready to tell her parents that she was gay. A few weeks went by, and her love grew stronger. At this point, she couldn't hide it anymore. She told her mom, and her mom seemed to have known already, and that was a relief. Then she told her dad. He became enraged. He told her to get out of the home, and that he didn't want to speak to her. As she said this she started to cry, and we kind of just left it there. I still don't know if he ever accepted it. How could you not? How could you deny anyone from the most powerful feeling in the world? What you create will someday love, and for someone to deny that no matter what the circumstances... is beyond me.
It could only mean one thing. That they are afraid. Afraid of themselves. Afraid of the unknown. Afraid of the Truth.
lyrics
This isn't gonna work out.
It's not how you were made
They tell you it's choice
That's cause they're afraid
They're afraid of the truth
They're scared of the truth
They're hiding the truth
You knew when you were young
So glad you found yourself
By now you're taring walls down
And the rest remain afraid
They're afraid of the truth
You're scared of the truth
You're hiding the truth
